Choosing the right ammo

There so many different influance here its not funny. Just like with shotguns, I never will forget the time I traded for that Mossberg shotgun thinking of selling it and making alittle money on the side. Sure needed it too new wife and new baby boy and plenty of bills to go around. Got poor boy invite to go dove hunting thinking the whole time I had a current hunting and fishing licnese. Got the cheapest shotshell wally world had. of course the old boy was laughing at me and the equipment I had. Well he had the land and the dog and the made to order out fit right out the robuck catalodge picture perfect let me tell ya. So he puts me a long distance from him so I won't spoil his hunting ya know. Well ok I had to admitt I looked pretty poor old bib over hauls holes in them but still there i was lower that whale tracks Mossberg shotgun wally world cheapie shell and worn out ball cap.
Pretty soon the birds started coming in where Iwas at so I took a shot dang got a bird right from the start. One shot one bird, i figured well at least I won't dgo home empty handed I got one at least. The rest of that day I was shootin and the dog was workin for me. The made to order hunter never fired a shot. I shot a total of 24 shells that day and had 19 birds. Was glad of that, the made to order hunter just looked at me looking as poor boy as I did when we started. But I was the one with the smile on my face and the smoking shot gun. His made to order and to die for Browning had never even fired a shot. I cleaned my birds and as we talked he was telling me how great his shotgun was. how great it shot and the story was on and on.
But here I was cleaning 19 birds and him with all of his fancy stuff and no birds not one. I was sure smiling all the way home too, until i looked at my hunting and fishing license and saw that it was last years and not this years. Its the only time I have cussed that Mossberg shotgun and those damn second rate wally world shells.
Its not always the shotgun or the shell but it is always the shooter, I was poor then and needed the game to feed my family. It all came about for me with a little scare at the end of the day but it all worked out.
Life can sure show you a few things like never judge a book by its cover and for dang sure check your licnse before you go out the door.
