corbon

am i cursed or am i lucky?

i was given 150 rounds of corbon 40 cal 135gr........i don't own a "personal" 40 and am issued gold dot.......can't use it other than as paper punchers.

i was given 2 boxes of corbon 380........don't own a 380

i was given 2 boxes of corbon 9mm +p.........don't own 9..............

has everyone given up on the 38 spl?????.....or are they just hanging onto the "good stuff".

oh well, trading material i guess.

Re: corbon

well, i could use this as an excuse to buy guns............

nah............................................... .......

i'd rather have handguns in the same caliber...............with a 5 gallon bucket of ammo

than different caliber handguns......and dang little ammo spread out amongst the different calibers to really enjoy any of them....

makes reloading components buying easier as well.

its just sort of cheaper that way...........

still trying to decide whether to hang onto my 45 ammo or trade it.........i've got a 50 cal ammo can full of the stuff...........

Re: corbon

nope..........made a trade for a smith model 65.....so i have been without a 45 acp firearm for a while.

Thought about a smith 625, but smith got real proud of those.......too proud......

i'm getting too old to chase brass all over the range. Revolvers make life very simple.

and the 38 is still affordable.

Re: corbon

Revolvers do rock, but a good semi in 45, like a 1911, will be your best friend if SHTF.

The moral of this story is befriend people who will give you free ammo.

Re: corbon

...and, if you talk it up...a lot of folks will do just that...it's happening here for us...a box here...half a box there...with a no-longer-wanted gun thrown in for good measure...the squeaking wheel does not run out of ammo....

Re: corbon

I had the idea that I wanted to reload the 40 cal. A few good members heard me saying that and came to my rescue told me the in's and outs of reloading the 40 cal. I took their advice and send all the equipment back to mid way. I have my sig 226 in 40 cal I can still get it at walley world. So I am ok there. If we lived closer we could meet and trade but its too far to meet and trade with the price of gas these days.

The best I ever saw with a revolver (not counting on TV) was an old feller at an IDPA shoot. He had a blue worn Smith in 41 mag, and he beat all but a few of the semi guys. And this was a shoot where each course of fire routinely had 25-35 shots. So he was running 6-7 reloads with speed loaders.

I talked to him after the shoot and he was a retired State Cop. He said when he started they were just getting rid of that "stupid one handed shooting nonsense".

I love watching him on Impossible Shots. He always looks way more professional than Bob Munden.
