i am still in mourning for the smith model 296.........had to part ways with that one.

and many moons (pun intended) back, i carried a smith 625 "model of 1989" 45 acp revolver. More controlable than any 357mag ever thought about and accurate to boot.

Wheel gunners are slowly and yet surely dieing out.......as are affordable options in variety of dbl action revolvers........"niteguard" and speciality cannons excluded.

...never fired a .45LC....is it comparable to the .45ACP? I love those big old heavy Nframes....but I prefer the ones (1950, I think) that don't have adj. sights...one in .44 would be wunnaful....

The .45LC can be loaded to exceed the .44 magnum. As it is usually loaded it is still quite potent. I usually load mine using the "Ruger only" loads published in the load manuals. It packs a pretty good wallup.

And today, I got to fire a .454 Casull for the first time. Now there is a wallup! Hand was sore for a few minutes after! Fired it in a 5 shot conversion of a Ruger Bisley. Awesome.

...my old hands don't wanna be hurt...so I'd stick to factory loads and not the hottest at that...to many impacts already....
