the reason we got issued the M-9 was NATO!!! the europeans ramed that down our throats.funny the seals and SF still use the 45 acp because it works.small note the azzholes that dream this chit up are not in a foxhole. pete |

don't get me wrong I like the 9mm but when loaded with hydroshocks, gold dots or silver tips.what the G.I. gets is fmj ball ammo and that sucks. pete |

...I've heard that we could use HP if we'd just DO it...it's insane not to use the most effective rounds if you're trying to win a war...my favorite warrior was Swamp Fox...Francis Marion...second was Patton...if it's come to gunfire...there are no rules other than WIN...and the sooner the better....

You can't beat that logic. But you can kill it if you're a pencil pushing fool.

flash back to 1986 in germany.. germany has more rag heads than you can shake a stick at.they are the ones than work the vineyards and pick cherries and plubs. anyways we were on a constant alert because it was death to all americans in country.this wasn't covered by the media I am sure.we had armed jeeps with M60's patroling the housing areas and the airfield was on high alert 24/7.as a SSG I was sgt of the guard and had to post my guards every 2 hours at the ammo/fuel dump.we were issued 2 20 rd mags and we were rounds accountable.every change of shift I had to count the ammo turned in and issue the next gaurds their ammo.if 1 rd was lost or fired it had to be accounted for and the brass recovered. in this time period they killed a G.I. in downtown weisbadden just to get his I.D. card.they used his I.D. card to drive a mercedez in to the main air port rhein main and blew it up.y'all might have heard about this??. anyways as the sgt of the guard I had to read the deadly force order to each set of guards that went out.IF they got caught with a non U.S.ARMY round 5.56 i.e. hollow/soft point they would go to levenworth ks disciplinary barracks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Sta ... y_Barracks so anyway back to the point hell no you can't use hp/sp ammo in the military. fwiw this wasn't new in 1980 they "think" red army faction cut the wire and tried to blow and the fuel dump at feucht airfield.long story short a sp/4 on guard let a 20 rd mag go off and they split.he said he meant to be on semi auto http://www.germanguerilla.com/red-army- ... pts/1.html the people here in the U.S. have lived a sheltered life until 9/11 just ask any G.I. that spent time in germany from the 70-90's. pete |
