shot shells

I was at wal mart last nite picking up some 12's and 20's when I noticed that Winchester has shells that are marker handi cap heavey target loads. The box states that they are 50 fps faster than the nitro 27's I have been buying. I think I will give them a try and see if they work as good and the Remington as far as chuckin and clean, if so then I am switching to them they are a 1/2 buck cheaper than the Remingtons same price as the feather loads.

Re: shot shells

are those sold in the big bulk boxes? I saw some at my local wally world, but don't know if it was them. They do have some cheap target ammo for the 12.

Re: shot shells

the experience i have with shotshells is avoid any and all that do not have a brass colored base. The shiney aluminum looking base shells would not even work properly in an H&R.............and sure would not work in daughter's rem 1100.

We've been sticking with winchester AA and with remington heavy Shurshot with brass colored base and no problems.

Ain't seen any chrome base 16's but i'm watching out for them as well.

Re: shot shells

[b][i][i][size=150][color=#0000FF]Shawn they are the single box ammo, and they are also brass. The aluminum base will work just fine with a pump well lets say in the past the Mohawk's have worked for me. The main item for me concerning match's is brass base and do they shuck out fast and easy plus easy clean up. size of shot not real important althought I must admit that 7 1/2 shot will put the target down faster than 8's will but if they have a knock down that throws a bird its always nice to have 9's in the right barrel.
Now if it really comes done to some smart elikey Doves I have a case ( 20 box's folks not the 10 box case they are trying to sale ya on these days) of 1 5/8 # 5 shot just in case I shoot them out of my 1100 with a Magum recoil pad, anything less than 50 yards or so ya got feathers and not much more. Yep I hand loader them, will dang sure do the job.
I shoot them one time and for a week my shoulder was killing me. But that 1100 loves them and wants more and the Dove shall we say fall out of the skyt before they know they are hit.
