Shooting cap and ball, what do I need?

Will be shooting BP this weekend. So far have Pyrodex FFFg, Balls, caps and crisco. Guy at the local gun store said to use a 9mm case for a powder measure, no oatmeal or wads.

Do I need to invest in a powder flask and/or capper? After putting 4 caps on the gun today to fire off I found them to be a pain. What do you guys do? I have a powder horn but it looks like it would be a pain to try to pour powder out of it into anything, let alone a 9 mm case.

What are the absolute basics? Probably won't shoot more than 20 rounds or so and then will probably have a better idea of the questions to ask.
Thanks

This makes loading a breeze and they are cheap . And a capper helps also .

Okay, I can get everything except the bullet seater at Cabela's tomorrow. Now shooting balls how often do you swab the bbl?

Am reading the ROA book right now.

I shoot all day and never clean barrel , I only use a rag and wipe the outside gun down between reloading . The grease over the balls will keep the fouling soft if you use the right stuff . When I shot on the USIML team , I use 22 grs of real 3F and used 18 grs of instant cream of wheat to bring the ball to the top of cylinder and it clean the barrel also . I found this target I won a gold or silver medal in a regional match using a 1858 Remy Uberti . Lost most of my good target in one of my moves . It scores 94 and normally I shot a little high score and keep all my bullets inside the 9 ring .

Re: Shooting cap and ball, what do I need?

Just got back from a meet up and think I have everything I need for the first days shooting: 2 cans of Pyrodex pistol pellets, 100 Hornaday .454 lead balls, 200 #10 Remington caps, unopened tube of breech plug nipple grease, 1 pack of lubed felt wads and a Traditions straight line capper.

Also in the deal was a Stainless ROA SN#145-3379xx. Suposedly unfired, it wasn't and I ended up paying much less than the asking price. No box or paperwork, but it did include the CB-73 Nipple Wrench in the Ruger envelope.

Sorry for the crummp pic but Phyllis ran off to Chicago for 10 days and and thought she needed the camera (agghhh wiminiz), so this is from the cell phone.

Re: Shooting cap and ball, what do I need?

I've got a ROA WTB on a local "bulletin board" called phoenix backpage. Will leave it up for a bit and see if I can find another one or two at good prices, although there are very few guns advertised on that thing for good prices. Similar to craigs list except guns, ammo, etc are allowed. I put the Winchester 1400 on there at a realistic price and it was sold, picked up and gone in less that 2 1/2 hours
