Shooting the Remington BP revolver

Finally got to shoot my Remington copy BP revolver today. Shot pretty good. Here is a pic of the gun and my Jack Russel:

Here are a couple targets. 12 rounds each target about 15 yards.

Re: Shooting the Remington BP revolver

I only shoot real BP never try the other stuff . I've had three 44 Remy and they all shot one hole groups with 22gr of 3F and fill rest of the cylinder with around 18gr of Instant Cream of Wheat to bring the ball to the top of cyl and a little grease over ball . You should be able to shoot all day without cleaning the bore . The 44's will out shoot the 36 Remy below

Re: Shooting the Remington BP revolver

I used to use nothing but real BP, but it is almost impossible to come by anymore. I used to go to Friendship, IN when I was a NMLRA member, and at the time a pound of Elephant brand BP was $6 a pound, and Goex was $8. Someone told me the other day that if you can even find BP, it was going for almost $30 a pound!!! The place I work at used to carry it (before I started working there), but the regulations got so stupid about it that he stopped buying it. Where you buy yours at?

Tim do you like that better than the Ruger Old Army? I've always wanted a Ruger, but they cost a lot more. I don't know if I'd shoot it or not. I would just like to own at least one someday.
