I have a Japanese Model 99 rifle with split stock, flip-up anti aircraft sight, attached monopod, and original sling. It also still has the Emperer's mark as it was a "dead soldier" gun. I received it from my Dad before he passed away. He got it from his father, and was assured it is the genuine article. Anyone know of a place I can get an accurate appraisal ? |

don't have a clue........but since it bears the emperorer's flower mark....(can't spell it), that ought to be a real treat and much more valuable as far as an insurance estimate. from the history and from dad......i would say it is priceless....... |

....yup-we can help you out there-I'm an Admin... .....the top rifle in this pic is a Vet bringback with all papers...a T99 Toyo Kogyo Series 35 Arisaka made in Hiroshima...its a long rifle and a scarser model to boot so with the documentation probably near the $500 range to a collector [attachment=0:36cx9ig7]t99-N-03S-N-GARAND.jpg[/attachment:36cx9ig7] |

...looks to be a Nagoya 4th series short rifle....cant quite tell from the series mark to the left of the serial # 'cause I cant see it close enough...can you get closer clearer pic of that area on the side rail??...will give more of what i can tell so far later, but its late and Im feelin fried....looks to be a nice original sling too!!!....be careful with it and take gentle care...the one that was on mine was so delicate and rotted it fell apart |

that "mono-pod"......wonder how good it was in practice? and i've seen on the history channel about those anti-aircraft sights for leading planes.........i think they were a tad optomistic as well........ is Norma still the main source of ammo for the japs? that stuff can get high dollar. |
