We had a Savage rep at the range today, with several rifles and Hornady ammo to shoot. He had two .300 Win Mags, a .308, a .17HMR, and a 6.5 Creedmore. The only one that really impressed me was the 6.5 Creedmore. That is one tack-driving round! It was making one hole groups with ease. We don't even have ammo at the range for that. I was very impressed with it though. On a side note, I got to fondle one of the 100 anniversary Colt 1911s. The boss wont carry new Colts, but this one is for a Friends of NRA event. BEAUTIFUL does not even begin to describe this gun. Engraved, gold inlays, special serial numbers (this one started with 1911NRA and then a 3 digit serial number!) All in all, one of my better days at work! |

Sounds way better than any of my days at work. I've seen those Colts. A little too much with the bling for me, but nice. Is that 6.5 a short round? I'm thinking that was one of them made up for the AR rifles, to possibly replace the 5.56? The 6.8 is an awesome round too. |

Yeah, it is a fairly short round.

Maybe I'm losing my mind. I'm at that age you know. |
