Kar 88 mauser 1890

Got this 20 years ago for $30 or $50,all matching #1677 with 1890 on the crest.I cant think of the caliber,been to long.I have it in my book where ever it is????

I want to say 8 mm but I'm a bit foggy on that,the brain is getting old.I have to find my book to be sure.It sucks getting old + forgetfully..

There is a sleeve over the barrel its a dinky thing when its apart.

if 8mm make sure and check your bore dia.the early ones "J" were .318 and later on some where converted to "JS" or .323 bore.by the look of the nose cap and bolt I would guess your was made as a commerical rifle ?? or a worked over army rifle.post some GOOD pics of the reciever and proof stamps.it looks like it is in fine cond.

I'm trying out my new flickr site,its not a good shot but you can see a S witch i think means it has been cut for pointer bullets...
you can see a 7.7 on the muzzle in the 1 picture...
