thanks, the rifles are in exc. cond.the no. 4 mk 2 is one of the last ones they made in england.1955 production the aussy lithgow is a 1918 that was FTR'ed in 43 I am just about done now with my military stuff.if I run into a finn 91/24 it would be nice. pete |

The Indians did too. I thought the heavier barrel and the better sights of the #4 would be an advantage but I really like the pugnacious appearance of the #1 mk3 and the machined parts. I was pleased to see you report on the accuracy of the #1 mk3. The SMLEs are by far my favorite bolt action battle rifles. I think they were the best ever made from a design standpoint. Appreciate the pictures and the information. |

The guns are real work horses and the twist is backwards |
