OK, so I have always been technically a legal citizen since I was born here. But today was the first day of my life that I legally carried a concealed firearm in public. It is a nice feeling to live in a state that recognizes my rights as a citizen. It is nice to not be breaking local and state law when I am following the true law of the land. I love the Live Free or Die state! |

Whenever anyone comes to our range from IL or NY, NJ, or other Communist states, I always tell them "welcome to the free world." Same applies here.

I have to say, that I was not nervous in the least bit. Perhaps because I was legal this time (not that I am admitting on a public forum to having ever illegally carried a loaded firearm while traveling in California). I thought I might have a slightly anxious response as I have read that other people have when they first start carrying in places like Wal-Mart and the grocery store as I did last night.

+1, Deputy! No matter what I was carrying, I thought that the whole world knew. Nlow I carry a 1911 under a Tshirt and don't worry about it. Unless I'm on my bike and my shirt is blowing up over my gun. Cruelshoes, did you get a NH permit? |

Yep, got my NH permit on Friday before work. Have worn my SP101 non stop from the moment I got home from work. Well, I did take it off in the shower.

Do you already have a NH license? When I moved here in 96 they told me to keep my license until my Maine one expired and then bring in bills for 3 months to show that I actually lived here. Then I got the NH license and became an official resident. Things moved much faster for you. That's good though. With a NH license you can get right to buying guns. |

I started the process as soon as I could. Took me about a week to get the ppwk for my DL. Then I applied for the CCW permit as soon as I could after that. I had that pesky thing called work that got in the way a few times, but I was please with the speed and the cost. Only 10 bucks! Quite a change from the "lets charge you an arm and a leg for everything and try to deny you your rights, give away your money and act like idiots" state.

You might not have to renew that permit. We may be going permitless. The good thing is with the permit, you can carry in VT too.

Anyone can carry in VT. I live on the border of the two, so it is good for me to not have to worry about a thing when I cross state lines. Took a 10 mile walk on a trail on the VT side of the Connecticut river today. The SP travels nicely in my pancake holster.

I believe that the deal is, if you don't live in VT, you have to have a permit from your state to carry there.

...no... ...this is the law concerning carrying weapons...I don't see that it's just for residents... http://www.leg.state.vt.us/statutes/ful ... tion=04003 http://www.nraila.org/recmap/Recguide.pdf ...Alaska, Arizona, and Vermont...all have "Constitutional" carry without any permit needed... |
