The 38 special in a snubby is a great self defense round, for all the reasons stated. A lot of people do snub the 38, but those same people will carry a 380 semi and feel that it's a fine round. I wouldn't want to be shot with either one myself, but feel the 38 is better. Especially the +P SD rounds of today. In a world of bigger is better, I think the 38 and 9mm get over looked far too often. Too bad, cause some folks are just missing out on a couple of great cartridges. For front pocket carry, nothing beats a 2" snubby in my book. My first full time carry piece was a 2" Taurus 357. I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of it!
