pocket carry

nice basic 101 video about pocket carry..the pants, pockets, guns, and holsters.

complete with demonstration and discussion of strengths and weakness of this carry mode.

28 minutes long.but well worth it.

I pocket carried my SP101 for several years and bought a 38 Spl LCR last year and it is my new pocket carry revolver. I carry it in a Simply Rugged pocket holster and it is my preferred method of carry.

I love the S&W 642 it can be shot in a jacket pocket or handbag without the hammer catching on anything to stop it , plus dirt and lint don't get in gun because it is sealed . The only drawback it is only 5 shot and that is not a good thing if a street or bike gang has you cornered and reloading will never happen in close quarters .

I'm guessing if you take down 3 or 4 of them the rest may lose interest.

I agree but really pal after the first one drops the rest already know this is gonna be easy. But there is always some one that thinks the know best as what to do, really the person that has faced the real deal knows better as to what they are going to do and how to do it their way.The only real way to know if it work is if your doing the talking and the rest aren't.

Being raised in Philly and a member of street gangs in my teen years and been around alot of biker gangs my whole life . I know for a fact some of them carry guns and knifes and know how to use them . You don't take a 5 shot revolver to a gang fight and live to talk about it , unless you are a fast runner .

I always decline when invited to a gang fight. To me my CCW is a tool to let us get away safely. NH is a castle doctrine state but that does not change my approach. I carry to protect my wife and myself and it is strictly a self defense weapon. If I know there will be a problem in a given area I go elsewhere. Come into my home and that is a different story and that is where the firepower is at and that is where my actions become more aggressive.

In about 1995 me and a friend [retired cop] when down to vist a friend in Globe AZ . Sitting in his living room when over 10 bikes pulled up and they stormed into Donny's house looking for his room mate and they were super pissed and very drunk and or high . They were from a chapter of the Dirty Dozen know as the Rooster Tails in Globe . Dick was going to shoot L to R and I was going to shoot R to L , that's how bad it got . If I knew I going to a gun fight I would have pack my Mac10 . You can pick your nose , but not your gun fight . Check this guy out in Philly ...

the age old questions.........as they apply to me

capacity vs reliability..........
offense vs defense.............
conviently small to carry vs inconviently larger to perform better.......
horsepower vs control...............
weight.......especially as it applies to pocket carry

and the wild card..................anywhere......anytime....... .......even at ihops.

I've gotten use to a G26 in the right zipper pocket of my Blackhawk pants.
I much prefer 1911 in 45 using a concealment holster. Too heavy for pocket carry.
