...if a theoretical person was to theoretically go to a theoretical County Tax Office...and diligently observe the door and surrounding windows...and see no 30.06 sign (the legal sign that must be posted to keep CCW folks from carrying in a place)...he'd go on in...and so it was... ...upon getting in the looooong line, said person, being a compulsive reader, began to read the Tshirts, counter signs, and finally the pictures on the walls....and wonder of wonders, on the wall inside both doors was a neatly wood framed sign with the 30.06 wording in red and letters appearing to be 1" tall on a white background...conspicuous to the public for sure, just not until you came in and walked by it...unless you looked over your shoulder, you wouldn't see it...and wouldn't see the other one until/unless you were walking out the door... ...sooo, the line behind now being longer than the one in front, said theoretical person stayed right where he was...carrying a P90 and a backup .44...thinking that he could beat the rap if it came up by the fact that it's not normal to look on the walls INSIDE the door as you walk into a room...but it bugged him...and rather than pick up the phone and stay on for an hour listening to a voicemail robot...let it go...until a few minutes ago, he read the book again...and noted something that other Texans may have overlooked: in the handbook under PC30.06 (e), and found out that because if the property is owned or leased by a governmental entity and is NOT a premises or other place on which the license holder is prohibited from carrying the handgun under Sec 46.03 or 46.035 (pp.34 and 35)...the person was OK after all...the legislators left as many loopholes as possible where citizens could excercise their rights...gotta love Texas!!! |
