more infor needed on Tx gun law

I know in Tx it is ok to carry a loaded gun in your car , but must it be in plain view or can you hide it on your person or car . The more I read the worst I get confused .

Tx law
A person commits an offense of unlawfully carrying a weapon if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun on or about his or her person unless the person is on one’s own premise or premises under the person’s control or inside of or directly en route to a motor vehicle that is owned by the person or under the person’s control.

It is unlawful to intentionally, knowingly or recklessly carry on or about one’s person a handgun in a motor vehicle if the handgun is in plain view or the person is engaged in criminal activity (other than a misdemeanor traffic violation), prohibited by law from possessing a firearm or is a member of a street gang.

Re: more infor needed on Tx gun law

...in Tx, you may carry a handgun in plain view or concealed on property owned by you or under your control...however, when you carry a HANDGUN in your car or truck, it must be concealed so that someone riding by or walking up to the car cannot see it...throwing a towel over it, putting it in the glovebox or under the seat is fine...it may be loaded...and there is no requirement for a Non-CCW citizen to tell the officer stopping them that there is a handgun in the car...though it is highly advisable and LEO friendly to do so...a long gun may be carried loaded or not in plain view in a vehicle...though for reasons of public alarm and thievery, I would put something over it...

Sounds like you can cary on your property, to and from or in your auto or any property or auto if in your control but must "not" be in plain sight.

...carrying on your property or property under your control...your store...your office or warehouse...may be in plain sight or concealed...
...carry in a vehicle...yours or one you are riding in, must be concealed within the vehicle...not on you unless you CCW

...if not, your barrel can shrink another 1 3/4"...I'd leave the last 1/4" in case you got a nearsighted ATF agent...

Re: more infor needed on Tx gun law

Wow, here we can't have a loaded rifle in a vehicle at all. We also can't have a loaded weapon in a car unless we have a CCW. If we are in a vehicle it is considered concealed and is a crime without the CCW.

Both seats tip forward , but the box is faster to get to once your stopped and it locks up also . Windshield bag is the only place left but there no way lock it up , when you go to a restaurant or something like that , moving it to more secure area when you get there is not a good idea . I'm open for more idea's

Re: more infor needed on Tx gun law

...sure as you move it...someone'll wanna know what you moved and pop it open...I'd put it under the seat...at least you could put one foot on the ground and get it out...using the bike for cover ain't a bad idea...

Couldn't you mount a lock box on the console just in front of the front seat?

A lock box under the seat would be great for securing a pistol on trike when I'm not there . The seat tips forward making mounting anything on console impossible .
