have any of ya'll read up on these two new entries?

the smith bodyguard 380 pistol with intergral laser.....around 11oz, and has a safety.

the smith bodyguard 380 revolver......not the bodyguard of old. Has an ambi cylinder release on the top-side and also an intergral laser on the frame and not the grips. Name is confusing as it is a 38spl despite the 380 name...........

I like the ambi cylinder release on the revolver. The semi auto is a bit ugly too, but might make a fine CCW piece.

They don't say if they are setup like a Glock DA only or like the 459 S&W DA/SA which I hate with 2 different trigger pulls .

Wouldn't it be DA only since it doesn't have an external hammer? Edumacate me.

How about I guessamacate you. Theoretically, you could have a semi that had a heavy (DA) first pull of trigger, with light (SA) follow up pulls, and still not have the exposed hammer. I am not sure if this has been done, but using the "first pull heavy = safe" logic, it might be done.

You could be right, Cruelshoes. With semi's, I'm not sure how the DA only and DA/SA works.

never handled one........but ain't the striker fired Walther 99 sort of set up like a da/sa????

I'm spoiled with my Kahr DA only at 5 lbs and my Glock is Da only with 3.5 lbs trigger pull and both have NO manual safety to fumble around with or get knocked off by accident . I have never shot a laser sight , but if a man size target if 15 or less yards from you don't need any sights to hit it .
