Well, got it Sunday, but can not get my stinking computer to download a picture for some stinking reason. Anyway, stainless, 4 inch barrel, bought a set of rosewood laminate Hogue grips and slapped on it. Beautiful gun. Shot it today (even though it was colder than a well diggers rear end) and it shoots great. If I can figure out why my computer wont load my picture, I will post a pic sometime. (It did this once before, and I had to let the wife figure it out.)

Displaying both my ignorance and the fact that I am on my Blackberry (which would make it more cumbersome to look up for myself), what does the MK3 designate? Is the gun a 357 magnum?

...Trooper is a Chevrolet copy of Python...great action and great price...I guess you'd have to call a Python the Caddillac....finish is not up to Python standards but it's a great gun...like the Smith 28 compared to the 27...not so fancy but just as good an action....

the original trooper is indeed the poor man's python as far as the action is concerned........... but the trooper MKIII is a bit more different animal in that is has a different action.....went to a coil spring instead of the leaf spring. |

Upon doing some more research on this, I can find no reference of Colt ever making this gun in stainless. Instead, I found reference to what they called "Coltguard", which is a brushed nickle finish. Looks just like brushed stainless to me, but apparently it is not.
