Cylinders give out first in a kaboom. Ruger's bh cylinder is not stronger than a smith's, the redhawk and super redhawk cylinders are. A load that would do that to a smith would do the same to a ruger.

i am a dyed in the wool ruger man.........but even ruger can make a boo-boo.............

it is my understanding that in 2010 ruger had a recall on a serial number range of the gp100.............something about the heat treatment on the cylinders was all wrong.............
