I decided to try the Saeco bullet with 2.8 gr. 700X in my Mod. 28-2-4". Seemed hot and not very accurate? I much prefer the 6" Mod. 28 over the 4 and 5"! Thanks, Onery! |

Reddog have you ever had any of your S&W forcing cone cut to 11 degrees . ![]() It is hot setup for cast bullets to enter the barrel deeper with very little distortion and cut down on leading and accuracty seem better to me . It take about 1 hour to cut and polish it on your kitchen table . The tool I have cuts 38 thur 45 and cost was under $100 shipped . All the top custom gun maker cut there guns to 11 degrees . http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=5...CHAMFERING_KIT Last edited by tx gun runner; 09-20-2011 at 01:01 AM. |

Gun Runner, No, I haven't. Most of my Smiths will shoot better than I'm capable of, anyway, when I find the right load. Dick Last edited by Reddog; 09-20-2011 at 06:20 AM. |

I picked up another nice 6" Mod. 28-2, yesterday! Haven't shot it yet.

Out this afternoon with my first 6" S&W Mod. 28-2. The 172 Keith bullet in .38 Special is pretty consistantly out shooting the 153 SW from RCBS in this and the Mod. 27-2 with the 5" barrel. Great fun! Dick |

Isn't it amazing how short barrels have become so popular with the "Concealed Carry" thing?

Most stubby when put in a gun vice and shot at 25 yds , with shoot along side a 6" barrel . Sight radial makes the difference . I saw Cannon on TV take his model 60 S&W shoot a bad guy at 200 yds |

A vice or a TV are either one too heavy to carry around waiting for a bad guy to show up? Hard to conceal, too.
