Ruger LCR

Pickin' one up next week. Thought it'd come in handy as a back-up and since it's so easily concealable I figure an ITB/MOB holster would be suitable, or a pocket, or a glove box, or a match-box even. Certainly wouldn't be my primary CCW, just started reading some reviews and was sold. I figure a 38+P in the right place would get a zombie's attention......of course if he's already absorbed some 45 ACP and 40 S/W, I'm toast anyway.

Re: Ruger LCR

you getting the magnum version or the 38 spl only version?

been reading up on them as well. the xtra few ounces of the magnum version seems appealing for comfort in heavy 38 loads.

i shot some 158 FBI loads in a LCR 38.....it was rodeo.

Magnum version deputy.....I'll plink with std. 38 spl and load it with +P when she's on "call". Have never shot one but I understand it's got a real nice smooth trigger, can't wait to run a few rounds through it.

Re: Ruger LCR

Fella's, I have to shamefully admit that this is the 1st revolver I will have ever owned. Thought long and hard about an SP101 in 357 MAG but since I would've considered it a viable CCW weapon, of which I already alternately carry either a 1911 or a SW M/P, just thought the LCR would fill in the "gap" just fine. That being said, there still may be an SP under my Christmas tree from me....to me this year.

Re: Ruger LCR

I like the weight and the trigger on them. Dry fired only, but it seemed pretty slick. I think it will be a great gun for CCW.

Re: Ruger LCR

I think it will be a good BUG, the SP101 is just to heavy to carry anywhere but on the belt, JMHO

I agree. I wouldn't want to walk around with the SP101 in my front pocket, and that's how I like to carry the snub nosed revolovers.

Hell, this thing looks small enough to tape behind my ear.

Re: Ruger LCR

I want a pic of it taped behind your ear.

I don't know if it's smaller, Sheepdog, but I think it's a little lighter. Seemed to be to me, but I can't be sure.

Re: Ruger LCR

...can you put one inside your Redhawk Grips??? talk about a quick reload...
...the light weight puts me off...I like to shoot and i hate pain...if it were all-steel and about 19 oz...

Re: Ruger LCR

Then you need the SP101. I don't mind the light weights, but wouldn't want to do a lot of shooting with one.
