Re: The lock

...I knew they can be removed...but why should we have another lint-hole to clean?!!! I will never own a gun with an internal lock...

Re: The lock

My point was, S&W say that there is no problem with the lock

Re: The lock

...they wanted to avoid "problems" and bowed to the pressure...best thing that ever happened to Ruger...and I've heard/read too many accounts too many different places to trust 'em...kinda like the P345...too much in the wind....

Re: The lock

The locks can suck. I removed the ILS from my 1911's right away. At least they are easy and don't change the look of the gun at all.

Re: The lock

the famous "lock"...........

the major contributing factor this lock has caused is running up the price of "pre-lock" smiths increasing the demand as folks serarch for an alternative.

i am not aware of any published accounts on deliberate "lock activation" saving any lives...............

Re: The lock

Michael Bane once posted on his blog about his .44 Mag Smith locking up on him because of an internal lock failure. Good thing a bear wasn't about to have him for lunch. I would not have one of the new Smiths with that damn lock.

Re: The lock

The lock can be disabled without leaving a hole in the frame.
