Boogey Man Was Shakin' Doorknobs Saturday Night...

...across the hall from my DIL's apt...Michael decided that her 20 ga. shotgun wasn't enough and hunted on line and found her a dream...it's a Taurus STAINLESS 23-oz. hammerless .357 2"...in great shape...$320...they had it 349 but she whined 'em down...haven't been able to find a stainless no-lock in Smith or Taurus at all...just the Taurus airweights at 449 and Smiths at 549+...I think she really got a deal...I'll give her some good .38 ammo and she'll have a good home/car gun....and he'll behave a lot better when he comes home!!!

I'm guessing it's a hammerless 605. I'd like to have one of those with the hammer and stainless, I've always thought they were handsome little revolvers. On the Taurus board the .38 Special version - the Model 85 - seems to be a popular carry and home defense piece as well.

...650... http://www.taurususa.com/product-detail ... y=Revolver H's wife has the .38 only version...stainless frame and cylinder...the 605 weighs one ounce more and does have the external hammer...

...she's got the 158gr LSWCHP+P in it...she won't be shootin' mags in it...though her tough husband may try a few...a very few...hope I get to watch...

Sounds like you got her set up with a good gun and load. You might try thinking about some HBWCs for around the apartment if you don't go with some of that fancy frangible stuff the ammo manufacturers have out now. If she lives in a crowed apartment complex, it is a concern. And I've tested some of my WCs in various mediums and think they would be dandy in a close up encounter with a BG.

...Jimbo, I used to load my HBWC upside down over 3.5 gr. Bullseye...I wonder if they'd penetrate any less than the lead SWC....I don't load anymore, anyways...and the factory hbwc is so anemic, it wouldn't be a stopper...I used to give folks Glasers...but they can be stopped by an arm, hand, sheet rock, etc...I don't use 'em much anymore except in my .44s first round up...in apartments, you gotta place them shots wisely...hope it never comes to that...
