The Taurus would not be something I would trust even if a gunsmith smoothed and tuned it to perfection as the parts themselves are not robust or durable. The same applies to Charter Arms. The quality does not matter as the design is cheap and flimsy. The lock and sintered parts on the new S&W revolvers are annoyances but the parts in that Taurus are far worse.

I have no such problem with Taurus autos, I have two and trust them both. They are copies of well engineered designs made to lower standards. The revolvers are a different story.

Sorry to be strident on this.
+1 ....

...gotta be true to your heart, Mac...after all, it's YOUR mangy hide you're protectin'...way I see it, I'll leave you the Taurus pistols and you can leave me the Taurus .44s!!! the Charters...I wouldn't give any of the new ones to anyone...and I wish I had my original Bulldog .44 back!!! They started well but their business's been shaky and the guns show it...
...the quality's dropped in S&W, Colt, Ruger, Taurus(after a radical improvement from the early days), and Charter...same like Marlin and Remington...seems like profit has overpowered pride in product and quality...it's the times and the workers we have...it'll not be gettin' better soon, I think...putting me in the used market...

Sheepdog, boy I think I have messed up bought 4 of those Bisley's this month and had to repare one myself and am sending another one back tomorrow. The new ones aren't any good at all. Wish I had kept my old models. too late now they are gone.
