The rubber part of the grips on my SP's and GP's are getting sticky and cruddy. I have been removing the grips when cleaning the guns but would like to know how to clean them and figured I would ask before experimenting and possibly screwing them up. Any suggestions? |

I have used WD-40 with pretty good success.

Soap, water, brush. And Palmolive has a lovely scent. Just makes sure you take off the wood panels. |

Just used the WD-40 and it worked like a charm. Shoulda known since WD-40 is the best general purpose gun lube and cleaner yet produced.

I read that wd-40 turns gummy and causes a lot of problems in the cold weather.

I had never given any thought to using WD-40 for anything other than metal, specifically steel but it makes perfect sense. Okay, thinking back I have used WD-40 on any number of rubber items found under the hood of a car. Hell, my shop has not been without a can at any time I can remember.

Kroil let you take exhaust bolts without braking them off . soak them and tap with hammer come back a hour later soak them and tap with hammer again and they should walk out . Best to leave over night . It take copper and lead out of gun barrel better then 95% of the junk sold in gun shops . I never leave in a gun longer that a hour . It clean too good after you dry it run a wet Hoppe patch to lube barrel and run a dry patch in hoppe will leave a coating in you dry it out . The top benchrest shooter use Kroil . Out of 48 reviews everyone that used it gave it 5 stars , not one 4 star or less of of 48 http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.e ... tegory0109 |
