Fracking copper

OK, so when I took that young man out shooting the other day, he went through 20 rounds fairly fast with my .270 Win, and now, you guessed it...copper fouling. I bought the Mil 7 copper remover, and it works OK, but right around the muzzle, I have some really pesky streaks that just won't seem to go away.

What's the magic trick?

How many times I gotta tell ya? Wipeout. Spray it in, wait an hour, patch it out. No more copper, you be done.

Re: Fracking copper

I looked for it at my local Kim...I tried really I did.

They didn't have it...so I went with the smallest bottle I could of the MIL 7.

I'm just cheap, and hate to pay shipping on a bottle of cleaning supplies.

The rest of the barrel seems to be fine, but it seems just at the muzzle is where I'm getting the most fouling.

Re: Fracking copper

Midway has it and I have the manufacturers address somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. I don't like paying shipping either, but this stuff works. You can get an accelerator for the stuff that makes it work in minutes.

Re: Fracking copper

Another thought here, you might ask your local to order it for you. Mine didn't know about it either 'til I asked about it. Worth a try.

Re: Fracking copper

I'll do that...I have to go back there tomorrow anyway. I bought a decent cleaning rod, and figgured out when I got home that it was a .20 cal rod, and doesn't have the same threads as all the slightly larger ones.
