I spray brake cleaner [not carb] in the crack . If the crack will close up I use a good wood glue and clamp 24 hrs . If there is a gap I use Marine-Tex or JB weld and clamp for 24 hrs .

I think so, and it's tougher than a tax collectors heart. It's all I use for bedding these days. Stuff was developed to repair hulls, and I think it will go off under water.

I've repair engine block and house water pipes . On bedding rifles it DON"T shrink and solvents and oil won't soften it . Been using it since 1966 . It is like JB weld but 10x stronger .

Boat yards or on line . $18 is a fair price so watch out . I made a temp repair on a bath tub switching valve the pipe split behind the hot water heater . I sold the house 7 yrs later waiting for hot water heat to go bad or the pipe to leak . The hot water heater needed to come out to get to it for repairs .

I Marine-Tex this handle on it over 10 years ago and this is my favorite cup . A friend gave me this cup 20 yrs ago before he died . I nuke this cup every day to reheat my coffee and put it in dishwasher every time I do a load and you can see it is holding up perfectly .

M-tex will hold up in high heat also . A friends car burned a hole in the alum intake manifold at the EGR valve crossover , which is engine exhaust gases . He sold the car over 3 yrs later and the repair was still good .
