I shot some cheap led ammo in my S&W model 19. The inside of the cylinder chambers is coated with lead. Will shooting some jacketed ammo clean out? Is there an easy way to clean the stuff off ? |

What wizard said. I've been told not to shoot jacketed bullets after fouling becasue it increases chamber pressure. Just clean it up and you'll be good to go. |

lots of elbow grease and a good brush with hoppe's, or for severe cases, a lewis lead remover which is a set of small bronze screens over a rubber plunger that pushes/scrubs the lead out................ |

If it is really, really bad, the Lewis Lead Remover from Brownells will get the lead out. Great tool to have.

It also helps tremendously to use Chamber Brushes instead of Bore Brushes on your cylinders. But don't use them in the barrel.
