Mini 14 Stocks

Are they all the same? I want to pick up a wood one from Ebay, but I see that they are different series. If they are not the same, how do I know which one I need?

...there's a list by prefix # on the serial #...I'd call 'em...

Re: Mini 14 Stocks

stay away from stocks that are for the old orginal mini's.............these rifles were the prefix serial number of 180 or less.

i do not know about stocks for this new version of mini's. These new ones have a prefix in the 500's and there is supose to be some subtile differences in the contour of the receiver. if in doubt, call the stock maker.

this will make the 3rd substantial change in the line since production started.

Re: Mini 14 Stocks

I guess I'll be looking for a 580 series then. I think.

Re: Mini 14 Stocks

The 580 series stocks are much better, IMHO, due to the rubber butt pad. The old stocks had curved plastic butts like a 10/22 and they suck!

Re: Mini 14 Stocks

They're shorter too, aren't they? I like the looks of the curved stocks. Look more classic I think. I'm in no hurry to change out stocks. I was just thinking that a nice wood one would look nice. It won't shoot any better, or be any more reliable, so it's not super important.
