Thinking about this scope: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?p ... ber=186660 We have these at work, but he sells them for $300! Loyalty only goes so far. Anyway, I think this would be an ideal scope for either a AR or a Mini 14. Milliet 1 to 4 power, illuminated recticle. If I buy it for the Mini, I would have to buy 30mm rings. That would increase the cost another $60 or so. I just aint sure it is worth it. I have a Bushnell Holosight on my M4 type AR, and I really like it. If I took it off and put the scope on it, I couldn't use the Holosight on the Mini without buying a adapter of some sort. I have a couple of real el-cheapo scopes laying around, but they really are just junk. I do have a Tasco 6-24X42, which actually has been an exclelent scope, despite what some folks think about Tasco, but that is too much, IMHO, for either rifle. I may just end up putting the big Tasco on my 10/22 when I get a heavy barrel for it, and use the one currently on it, a Tasco 3-9x32 on my Mini. That would save me lots of money. |

i never got interested in 30mm tubes...... i like 1" just from the point that i can move a scope from rifle to rifle without worry about buying more 30mm rings. Would not be a problem i guess if everything was a weaver set-up and just move scope and rings as a unit.........but it ain't. |

I wouldn't scope the Mini at all, but if you must, the scope, Pete, posted looks like it would be a good one for it.

If you got Ruger rings with the gun, a call to Ruger and they will exchange the 1” for 30mm if they have them. They will send them to you and you will send yours back when the new ones get there, I have done this three times. You pay shipping one way. |
