Lever #27

This Marlin m-57 22 mag is also known as a 1/2 cock. You can see the short stroke on lever and full open bolt. This is another 1 in the pile that is in on hawk for 3 years now. They were his dads guns and i gave him no time limit. I also said i would not try to clean this 1 gun and leave it as it was.It shoots sweet with that 1/2 cock lever.Ill have to find the year, but i guess 57 ?? There was a nice copy of this gun made by someone.J C Higgins or Hi standard .If you know remind me who it was.
I think my hard drive is full cos I'm forgetting ever thing lately.

Like to say that the HI Standerd revolver is in for a cleaning and touch up.

New one to me. I think it's a little ugly, but still cool.

Re: Lever #27

i would not be suprised if it was a J.C. Higgins rebrand............

i also remember that mossberg had a hammerless .22 lever but can't remember much about it.

shame that some of these designs did not endure. Wonder if it was lack of market demand or a problem with the design?

i think some old obsolete guns/designs could suceed today if made right and economical. there are a lot of ideas and foundations already laid out there by someone else and the patents have expired...........

Re: Lever #27

...Dep, the Mossberg Palomino had more of a cowboy look on the stock...

...I agree about the remakes...if Marlin'd remake the Mountie, they'd hurt Henry's copy bad...IF the quality on the Mountie was like the old ones were...the 39A's just too long for me...
