Great looking Alaskan though Shawn, I think I would have also gone the .44 Magnum route instead of .454 Casull since it's a bit cheaper and I don't reload. Did you pick this up after you saw the movie with The Rock? That thought just occurred to me. |

Yep, just got the gun and seen the movie a while back. I got the Redhawk and wanted something a little smaller in 44mag also, and looked at some Smith's. Then I saw a thread on the Alaskan on the .com board and remembered the movie and saw Danny's... Well I decided that I'd go with the Ruger. The rock uses a 454 in Faster. I'd only use it for Colt loads, so the 44 will be better probably. |

I like the Alaskan, good for what they were designed for. I had one on order for a year before I got the S&W Trail Boss, came in just after. With those big grips probably much easier on the hands.
