Missed out on my .44

I went to look at some .41's 44 mags and maybe a 45 revolver.
Having always been a Ruger revolver man, I figured I'd look at some Smith and Wesson's.
Maybe pick up a 629, I don't know. I just went to look.

Dang it if I didn't get another Ruger in .357. I must admit, The .357 is the first handgun I had a love affair with.
I'm thinking about changing the grips though. Thickness they are ok but front to back, they seem a tad much for me.

Hogue actually makes some nice hardwood grips although they are a little pricey. I personally like the insert grips on mine as they fit me nicely and control the GP's recoil easily. Congrats on the new GP and it is a fine looking revolver.

We have one two Gp-100s, the wifes, with those grips, and mine with the insert grips. I think that says which I prefer

I have insert grips on my other GP with the 6"barrel. I think I may have an extra set of insert grips, I'll have to check. If so, I may swap em out.

Very Nice! I want a blued GP myself to go with my Stainless one. I too did not like the Hogue monogrip.
I prefer these grips:

That's nice, I like the stainless one. I'm thinking of using this one as a carry gun after I get it all set up.

I like the mono grip; but, the GP 100 does not need them, any good looking grip would work well.

Well, I guess you can think of it as "warming up for a .44" so you are forgiven----this time

I can't pick on you too much, we have 2 GP-100s and the .357 is our most owned centerfire caliber.

Poncho Liners are awesome. They are light, warm and breathe well.
I keep one folded up next to the recliner for those days when the boss "goes to bed early without me".
Sometimes she really needs to catch up on her sleep because I snore so bad!

I throw it over me and out come the rags to lay firearms on for cleaning.
It's my quiet time.

She teases me like I'm a little kid. She says:
My Blankie is a poncho liner!
