Ruger Launches the "Million Gun Challenge" to Benefit the NRA Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE:RGR) announces the "Million Gun Challenge" to benefit the NRA. Ruger will donate $1,000,000 to the NRA if one million new Ruger firearms are sold between the 2011 and 2012 NRA shows. (I bet they could sell that many SR1911s, if they can make em!) |

That's a lot of guns! The SR1911 seems to be flying off the shelves. I haven't even seen one at my local yet.

has ruger firearm production ever approached a million? makes more sense if ruger would just say they will give the NRA one dollar for every firearm sold............but that does not have the pr ring to it like "million"........ |

Well, they seem to be on track so far. April to now they gave a check for $279,600. Deputy125- they are donating $1 for each new gun sold regardless if they reach the one million or not - that is just their goal. I helped donate $2 towards that! Last edited by jimbo1096; 08-01-2011 at 07:04 AM. |

i bet the GOA is flashing their fangs about now......... it will probably be the big gun show next year before i get to fondle an sr1911.......don't need it or really want one......but still want to fondle it. one good thing about gun shows...........like window shopping at a mall dedicated to guns..........all under one roof and no obligation to buy...... |

When they came out with the SR1911 I had to have one and now they are bringing back the 22 LR in the SP101 with 8 shots so it is a real dilemma for me. When I get the money probably the 1911.

i've read an article somewhere that ruger is going to be rather busy and keep introducing more models......... still think we will see a SR45 in the future as it would not compete against the sr1911.................nowadays only a 1911 can compete against a 1911. |
