Prayer request for a REAL gunwriter who's served us well...

...from another forum...

You don't know me but I worked with Steve Camp over 20 years. I am currently the Sheriff of Denton County Texas. I do not know your relationship with Steve but I am going to take it upon myself to let you know what happened today. His wife (name deleted) came home for lunch and found Steve lying on the floor. He was taken to a local hospital and evidently suffered a brain aneurism. He was care flighted to a hospital (Harris) in Fort Worth and is currently on life support. At this time his situation is grim. I have followed his web site and his writing career and this site as well. Steve is a great man that the likes of only come along once in a great while. I was with him when he founded the Tactical Unit for our P.D. in 1986. He will always have my admiration and loyalty. He has touched many people through the web and this site. I hope you will forgive me if this was inappropriate but I know Steve had many friends on the web and I wanted to give him his due.

Done. I have really enjoyed his work over the years. You are right sheepdog. Mr. Camp is a REAL gunwriter...it shows in his work.

I wish the man the best, but I'll be honest, I'm not familiar with his work. My loss, I'm sure.

This is a real loss. I will continue to pray for his family.

I came to the internet gun forums due my interest in the Browning Hi-Power. His web site and brilliant information available on it, displays many years of love of that particular firearm.

I have read many of his responces to questions on http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com and am shocked at this news.

Hate to hear the loss of Stephen Camp. Like others I've enjoyed reading his writings and thoughts on various topics and it seemed no one knew more about the Browning Hi-Power than Stephen. God bless him and his.
