CAS / SSAS guns

I got these guns over 4 months ago and only test fired them . Waiting for this Tx heat to go away so I can shoot a match with them . I can't take the sun if it is over 80 degrees anymore . All the guns have all the trick goody's in them .

I can well understand that last July thought I was going to pass out so I don't shoot in the heat either any more. I shoot at Fort Parker they shoot the 3rd weekend of the month and Oakwood they shoot the second weekend of the the month and I some times shoot at CVC I am thinking they shoot the 4 th weekend of the month. I can show you the route there if you want some time and once you know how to get there you can shoot them up lol. Let me know if I can help.

The new Cimarron's have all the trick goody in them . The trigger flat spring has been replaced with wire type and hand flat spring has been replaced with a Ruger stye coil spring and plunger . Those where the 2 thing broke in Colt and there clones . A thin piece of leather between the main spring and frame and you have a bulletproof Colt clone . You WON'T need to send the gun out to get the cylinder sized correctly to bore or polish the inside of frame . I have 3 Cimarron and they are all works of art .

My Renegade is factory race ready gun . The trigger is too heavy , that is easy to fix . The short stroke is super and will feed anything you put in it 38 or 357 and any stye bullet and the action is super fast . My only complain is the gun is too heavy and don't swing like my 92 clone . With the light 38 loads I use , the gun stay on target which is a plus . I just hope I can get use to the weight . I have a Lyman peep to put on it , if I decide to keep the gun .

Here is the targets for these 3 gun . My goal was to shoot 50 rds with one gun in each hand the same times , alternating shot from each gun , but my shoulders peter out too fast . Remember these loads are loaded for FPS for SASS/CAS matches not accuratcy .

I was close to getting involved with CAS. Had a name picked, an identity/style chosen, bought a pair of Single Sixes in .32 H&R magnum - the fixed sight Vaquero-esque ones and a Marlin 1894 Cowboy in the same chambering. Just lacked a shotgun. Wanted a SxS in 16 gauge but nothing found I liked. Guess that lapse killed my interest.
ALWAYS good to see the nice firearms others use in the events though. Beretta's finish and fit on Uberti's stuff is very nice.

You should check the rule book for SASS before you buy anything . I believe 16ga is only allow pumps like a 1897 Win , SS must be 20ga to 10ga . I'm sure about CAS rules .

http://sassnet.com/Downloads/2011ROM...ok-17-2011.pdf

I shoot 3/4 oz in my 12ga and kicks less then 3/4 oz in a 20ga and that is a fact ..... I have a bad shoulder and can't handle any recoil at all .....

Yes, me bad. While I was looking for a SxS in 16 gauge, I was also on the lookout for a well worn 16ga pump. I recall no finding a few Savage's but they were just too clean to cut.

i have one of the Beretta/Uberti "Stampedes" in .45 Colt. I bought it as a "rough and ready, out in the brush" gun. The pseudo case hadening didn't last long on the loading gate and the blueing stains and weras off fast...But Lordy can that thing shoot!!!The mechanics of it are about perfect and it makes shooting a SA a breeze. Cosmetics be dammned this gun was worth evry dime I paid and more.

I always figured the coach gun would be one of the nastiests house guns you could own. Two quick loads of 12 ga with something like #2 shot, oh what a mess.

My wife agrees with you. I bought one of the China "coach guns" for slaps and grins. She took a liking to it. The next time she went to the big city without me she came home with one of her own AND and EAA "Bounty Hunter" hammerless. She couldn't make up her mind. so she bought both After firing the really light EAA she decided the Chinese gun was Her "get off my porch" gun. she keeps it handy.

I had a red cloth back round similar to yours that I used for many years. Over the years it got enough grease/oil on it that I could no longer use it. I need to take my camera in to a fabric store and take a few pictures to get the right cloth.

Our photography style is very similar. I have a degree in photo-journalism.

Thanks for the reply
