Whats the oldest firearm you own?

With me it is a Colt Police Positive Special that was made in 1929. I can remember my dad kept the revolver in his bureau while I was growing up and was the only handgun he owned for a long time. We went across country in 1956 and he had in in the glove compartment of our 56 Pontiac. Down into Mexico all over. I don't think he realized the number of laws he had broken until one of his brothers told him.

I still take it out and shoot it once in a while and it still is a shooter.

Right now, I don't own any real old. I have owned a few Old Model Rugers, probably the oldest one I ever owned was a .357 Flattop from sometime in the 50s, can't remember the exact year. Have owned a couple of pre-64 Winchester 94s from the 50s as well. Owned a Colt Target .38 that was pretty old.

I have my Dad's only gun he ever owned. Its a 12 ga. single barrel. Brand name is Oak Leaf, made I beleive in NY, for many different dealers. Its disassembled now in a box , No bluing left, a cracked stock and lots of rust inside . but is has killed many rabbits ,pheasants and two deer. I'm thinking that it has to be over 80 years old.

When I got it from my mom a few months after my dad passed away it was rusted up pretty good. I couldn't get the rust off without taking the bluing off it so I had it refinished/reblued. I knew I would never sell it so figured I would rather own something to remember that looked nice instead of a piece that was a mess. It still drops em right in there at 25 yards.

I can understand that I have a Model 10 that I bought looked really bad and I have the gun smith re-finish it as well. Sure turned out nice and I love shooting it too. I have a target trigger on it that really made a difference is the action.

A friend of mine in the 80's seen a sign at the gate on Mexico side that said "no firearm" he stop at the gate in a motorhome and said to the guard he needed to return to USA how can he flip a u-turn to go back to USA , they ask him why and he said I have a gun . BIG MISTAKE he spent over a month in jail and never seen a trial yet , it cost him over $10,000 in payoff's to get released from jail , lost the motor home and everything in it and still had to made the payments on motorhome to the bank . So your dad was very lucky , since a 38 spl is a military cartridge which is serous charge too boot in Mexico . . . And a nice looking Colt

There's a 4 digit ('66 or '67) OM Blackhawk in .41 mag here and a 10/22 International from that same time frame. My father on the other hand...lots of Civil war and REvolutionary war muskets and rifles at his place.

Hey thats the war that they settled by Teddy Roosevelt with a conference at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in NH (actually it's in Maine but long story) in 1905.

My Dad bought a few "old guns" when my Mom and Grandmother owned an antique store. I have a half-stocked percussion rifle of unknown make and a Snyder Enfield that was brought in in way before the armory in India was found and is in better shape than those relics. There are a few others as well.

My Dad picked up this old boy at an auction.
Fully functional, trigger guard missing
not a clue of its age, but I believe it's French.
