I looked at one of the Rossi"Ranch hands" when they first showed up. I couldn't figure it out, but it was the first .357 my wife didn't immediately want. If you can figure out how to shoot it with great effect let me know and even if she doesn't want one I will reconsider.

It will be a week or so before the LGS gets the pistol so it might be awhile before I can shoot it. The range is close to the LGS so I'll shoot it the day I get it.

In the meantime I'm watching old reruns of Wanted: Dead or Alive. Call it educational TV.

Do you remember how much they were asking? I paid $300. I saw them for as low as $265 but with shipping and the FFL fee I would end up paying more in the long run. Besides I like my LGS.

You getting the 22LR and not the 45 Colt I'm guessing because of the price you are paying .

I'm getting the .22 as I have enough high power rifles. Being retired I go shooting every few days even in the winter (its snowing now) and find that plinking is just as much fun with a 22 as it is with an expensive caliber.

In the long run a 45 Colt would be a better investment but I buy to shoot and not as an investment.

I bought the Henry holster for it but now want a belt to go with it. Might have a custom one made.

I'm with you on that about .22s someone on another forum asked "How many .22s do you own?" I stopped counting at 29. That isn't a "round number" I like round numbers. Hmmmm

Thats funny. I just posted my 22's on that thread in the Ruger Forum.

Since you like round numbers you will need to buy two at a time which makes you still own an odd number. That insures you still have an excuse to buy two more.

I think I need the Mare's Leg and an LCR. wait, still odd. I'll have to buy an SR22 and a single ten...No.. that won't work. I'd better get busy, I have a lot of buying to do

I feel the urge to ask a dumb question. How do you sight with it?? Do you put it to your shoulder or shoot from the hip?? It would seem to lend itself well to a laser sight then it would be just plain nasty at close range.

That's what I thought when I handled the Rossi version.Show me a good laser mount for it and I may reconsider some things.

It is a pistol , you shoot it like a pistol . If anyone put a laser or scope on a gun like that needs to be fixed to where the must sit down to pee ........

Josh Randell would shoot both ways, from the hip or shoulder depending on the distance. It has the same sights as the rifle. I think a red-dot would be better than a laser but think it would look funny.

The Mare's Leg is just the western version of the Charger and think the Charger would be great with a red-dot.

I'm not hot on lasers because they make me less steady. I have one laser on a P22, and an Eotech on an M4, and an Airmpoint on a 10/22 with a folding stock.

Getting back to the Mare's Leg I just want to be able to shoot tennis balls and keep them in motion. My Henry H001 I've shot like Chuck Connors on The Rifleman. The H001 is the small loop but you can still work the action and fire it one handed.

DITTO, if you must have a laser then buy a Charger. But like I said in my other post a red-dot or halo is much better. At least it is for me.
