That is a .22 that is similar to a centerfire you us for practice? I got in the habit years ago. Here are some of my .22s and their centerfire counterparts |

I carry an XD sub in 9mm but practice with 22's. I call it practice and not training because they are differant type of weapons. In a way I'm training to be able to shoot any type of weapon.

My EDC is a Springfield 1911 micro-compact (.45acp) and I use my GSG 1911-22 as a significant part of my training exercises.

I have found with .22s that lead up, fire lapping helps a lot. Using the CCI CB caps (full length Lr cases with a .22 short powder charge) and just rolling them between thumb and finger coated with Clover brand (this IS brand important) valve grinding compound and then firing 6 cleaning and repeating to about 48 rounds, sometime more, works wonders. You want the low velocity of the CB rounds an Clover brand compound to get the right results.

I think different than the accepted idea of shooting practice/training. I subscribe to the idea that shooting is shooting and that whatever handgun you choose to shoot is good practice not necessarily training. For training you need to train with whatever gun you plan to use in the event your training for. So anything I have that handles the same as something else was not intentional for practice or training. |
