I am cross eyed dominant - right handed, but left eye is dominant - so I can and often do use either eye for my pistol shooting. Shooting rifle and shotgun, right-handed, the way I do both has been much more of a compromise for me with my left eye bing dominant. May be why handgun shooting has always seemed so much more natural to me.

TGR, I figured you'd be along with your Glock at some point. Have to say, that really is an amazingly versatile and durable platform. Just makes so much sense. Try as I might because of the polymer, I still can't rule out the possibility of trying a Glock at some point.
I used whichever eye matched the hand, right or left, so left hand shooting with the left eye is natural for me. I had always done some shooting with my left hand just as a precaution, but when I shattered my right arm I increased the left handed practice to more than 50%. More injuries later made that work out well.My right elbow does not lock so the arm comes in from the side and heavy recoil guns tend to shoot left. Shooting left handed worked better for these.

While my Hi-Powers rank really really close .... It's still my SS CZ 75b that consistently puts the biggest smile on my face It fits like a glove, shoots tiny groups and to my eye looks exceptional

Red Label 12 Ga. It fits me like it was custom built and I upped my claybird scores with it. It hits where I look so it feels like it is a built in part.

I'm with BuckJM53 & most everyone that shoots one

My CZ 75B Omega is just an outstanding pistol! For me, adding the Hi-Viz front sight sealed the deal, though my Pare 1911 in .45 acp was very close.

Okay, all better. Now I can rest.

Glock 9mm / 40SW frame is the 1st and only DA action double stack frame I can reach the trigger correctly . CZ75 is a super gun but I can't reach the trigger on it . The same thing with Beretta 92 and Taurus 92 . All the early DA/SA S&W [ I never tried the new one ] . So that is why I'm a Glock man . The Glock frame for the 45 ACP or 10MM the reach is too far don't fit me either .

Hey, found a holster for one of "my only one gun" guns, the gun being the Ruger 45 Convertible. Was at a local gun show, over the weekend, and found a local guy that makes them at home. Nothing beats a handmade quality holster, hand stitched and all. Sweet. Going to have him make something for my other "only one gun", too. This one is ready to go with Ruger only bear loads, come spring.

After going through the thought process and reading the comments again (actually several times ) I have come to the conclusion that my one gun is: One revolver, one semi-auto, one rifle one shotgun and one 22!

Thanks, TGR. Yeah, finding leather for all these guns is almost a full time job. This one, though, was a priority because it is my bear woods carry gun in the spring. Ferocious handgun with Ruger only bear loads, but the beauty of it being a convertible is that I can also shoot mild 45 Colt and factory 45 auto, too. Really is the most versatile handgun in the collection.

Yeah, I know what you mean, 44. I could no more limit myself to only one gun as stop drinking coffee.

Dang, my range just got in a used Smith 19-3 4" blued, and I think they might be giving it away at $399. About the closest thing I could find on Gunbroker was this one that went for over $150 more. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/613695978

I say "dang" because I only own 2 centerfire revolvers and they're both 4" .357's. So, do I really want a third? They have another gun I want too---a Colt 100 Years of Service commander 1911 in high polished stainless or chrome, whatever that gaudy finish is. They have $599 on that. Hmm--the pair for a thousand.

Hmmm! That is a very good price for 19-3, assuming it's in decent shape. Definitely a $500-600 gun in these parts. Would have a hard time passing that one up.

As for the Colt, I'd proceed with caution. That 2011 time frame was kind of shaky for Colt. QC varied, widely. If you plan to shoot the gun, check it over good. As far as buying it as a commemorative or anniversary gun with the hopes of it appreciating, very much a hit and miss and if it's been shot and/or missing papers, that value has left the building, anyway.

The Smith is much more of a sure thing.

I don't think the Colt has any commemorative value, as it has some mods, i.e. an aftermarket magwell. They also got in a Colt lightweight commander, but they want $899 for that. Maybe I'll take a look at the model 19, but I'm more in the market for a 44 mag.

44 mags and I go way back. Just holler if you find one and have questions. Good chance I've owned one.

I understand, but dang! I have two Mod 19s and a Mod 65 and I would snatch up that Mod 19 so fast at that price the cylinder would spin, assuming it is in good shape. I say that knowing I am looking at cutting way back on my guns as I feel things are winding down for me and my wife won't need so many to deal with. The Mod 19s are special as they are so versatile and they are not made anymore as they were. They are great guns. For steady use with hot loads the L frame or N frame is better but the K frame is the real sweet spot for me and my hands.

I was unable to leave the range again without buying the Smith & Wesson 19-3. Delayed by the DOJ again, so I didn't get to leave with it. It has some wear, but not terrible. The blueing is worn at the muzzle and under the trigger guard. The grips are pretty beat up, but no chunks missing or cracks. Lockup is pretty good, not near "bank vault" tight. The bore looks great and the trigger is fantastic in DA and SA. I paid the $399 with no attempt at dealing. He seemed well aware that it was a low end price. He said it was a consignment, and the guy wanted it to move. I had to placate myself by shooting my GP100. Hopefully I can get the Smith when I go in Tuesday for my regular range day. I see the Colt 100th anniversary 1911 was gone.
