$1000

I just sold a rifle for $ 1000. Let's have some fun.
Now that we have money in our pocket, what should we buy?
If you had a grand to burn on a gun, what would you get....handgun or rifle or ammo?
Which model....caliber...etc?
I have no children, so let's spend my inheritance....

Are you looking to adopt an older child?

Better save the money for the rest home.
$100,000.00 + per year.
It will come on you quicker than you know.

For the rest home look at long term care insurance. If your lucky you can have medical people come to your home and you can croak in familiar surroundings.

You guys are a real buzz kill aren't you.....

Glad I didn't ask your advice when I recently sold a custom 700 with scope, hard case, and ammo for a $2200.

Bought a Tikka Hunter 222......$500
CZ 452 22LR and Leupold 4X.....$525
CZ 527 Carbine 223 and Leupold 2.5-8......$900
and a mint S&W Model 10-8.....$400

I went a little over budget but I have no intention of dying in an old folks home wearing a diaper.

I sold a Remington 700 R5....see picture.

$100,000 per year for rest home?? Is that at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas?

So far we have a .338 Lapua.... very nice. I am taking donations to help with the purchase. A grand ain't gonna cut it.

And a grand for binoculars???? Do they have exray vision?

Now Field Grade seems very methodical. I like the way you spend your money. Very nice choices.

However, things are looking bleak. I just gave my wife $200 of my grand. As quick as money slips away, maybe I should just plan on buying a Red Ryder.

I have no idea. I thought I had all the guns I wanted, until the last LCR broke. Then I had to want a better choice, and the .357 SP worked out okay.

I know you can't get a Freedom Arms or Korth .22 for 800 bucks.....

Nah my first choice was a good set of Bino's.

It would be a buzz kill if it were tickets on United Airlines.

$1000 would get me in the market, but just, for another classic single shot, but would still fall short of what I would need for a used Freedom Arms SA revolver.

Based on everyone's response, I would say I'm hanging with a very classy group of folks.
