Do you take a dog with you when you go hunting? What kind of hunting dog do you have?

The one guy who had a hunting dog here, vanished a while back. He came in at the beginning and then flaked. |

no hunting dogs at my house. For teh most part, the most often used/worked hunting dogs around here are "red bone" used by various pig hunters. They run packs of them chasing those dang feral hogs. use to be a lot of quail hunters but quail populations have tanked for the most part due to a combination of factors including feral hogs and fire ants. |

This old fat man isn't going to get there none too fast and by the time I did get there I would have much a dog left. Best to bait them if you ask me, canalopes work well as does sweet corn busted up. But for the most part around here folks want you to pay them for getting ridd of their hog troubles. I can stay home and save my money. I am not paying anyone to hunt anything, just my 2 cents. |

I guess if you kept your dogs on a leash that would help save the dogs from getting eat up by a hog. Last edited by Ornery; 08-09-2011 at 10:01 PM. |

My dogs is cross trained. I have a hunting dog and a stock dog. They both will tree, or work livestock. I always take them with me when I'm in the Country.
