I recieved the holster yesterday and tried it on today. I'm very disappointed in the design. The pistol rides about four to six inches too high in the holster to be comfortable. In viewing the TV series it also rides that much higher than Josh Randells. I'm going to send it back. |

That's a shame mate, but it's got to be right for you.

I liked the holster and wanted to make it work so I cut the bottom out and let it slide down further. And people call me dumb. ![]() This is how it should ride. |

That holster was made for the original dead or alive size gun which has a shorter barrel . Did that holster come from Henry or somewhere else .

The movie holster allows the weapon to drop below the lower loop and that is what gave me the idea to cut a hole in the end. I must admitt it now works perfect. I don't own a Winchester 92 and was wondering how long the forearm furnature is. On my Henry its seven and a half inches. I think the Winchester forarm is longer which makes the rifle(pistol) look shorter.

I think the best way to measure a barrel length in a pic is to measure the action which the 92 are all the same lenght and you can use it as a gage . Some of the pic of his gun looks like a 94 /30/30 action which is longer then the 92/44-40 ????? Last edited by tx gun runner; 01-28-2012 at 05:13 PM. |

have no idea how i would pack a mare leg.......probably would borrow from the movies such as "romancing the stone" and carry it in a scabbard on my back for an over the shoulder draw........but that is also movie magic......

In todays world it would make a great rifle for a rancher. Something you could lay in the pickup seat next to you and grap in a hurry when needed. Back then it was like a cowboys version of an M4.
