Marlin Model 1892

Leverguns has been dormant long enough. Last weekend was the PHX 3 day Dec Gun Show which is one of the nations largest and along with the high prices there were some good deals to be had. On Fri I bought a Marlin 39A Mountie that I turned around and sold for almost double on Saturday. I then found the pictured Marlin Model 1892 in .32 Cal (Long Colt) produced in 1901. The carrier assembly needs some work but it looks good and the price was VERY VERY RIGHT.

Re: Marlin Model 1892

NICE FIND ....It's not a 32-20 , which will be mark 32WCF . If It is a 32 colt which is rare , is it a centerfire or rim fire , most marlins had a rev firing pin . I think brass can be made by shortening 32 HR .

I like that. I thought about buying one a while back, but decided to get a lever gun instead. I didn't get that yet either.

Re: Marlin Model 1892

At the cowboy shoots if 10 pumps show up , only 1 will make threw the match without screwing up . WHEN they work they are great , when they work ask SNUFFY .

Re: Marlin Model 1892

I personally like the looks of the pumps Sarge and will snag one if I can find one priced right. Not quite sure why the older ones bring so much money.

Re: Marlin Model 1892

Your right not many pump rifles make a whole match. There are those that love them, at least at the start of the match they do. Nice rifle a real keeper there pard.

Re: Marlin Model 1892

..I think a modern manuf. could do well to make pump rifles in revolver calibers...if they were made well...the Cowboy Shootin' sport has sure eaten up the market on the leverguns and caused them to increase in price....

Re: Marlin Model 1892

Not really sure, looks like someone got carried away with a grinding wheel. Also the cams/guides are worn. Will take a pic or 2 tomorrow and post them.

Did finally manage to find 3 (three) 32 Long Colt Rimfire rounds
