| Senior Member Joined: Apr 2008 From: Texas Posts: 4,142 | took the 73 and 76 out to the range This I took my range finder and the first steel target is at 203 yards, easy as pie smoked it with both rifles then on to the next one its 301 yards. I could hit with the 73 but not much of a punch, just too far. Aw but the 76 now that is a horse of a different color all together. Had a blast today shoot one 3 pound coffee can of 44-40 that I can use because of the bullet deign. There were made for a 44 Russin and I thought I could use them for the 44-40 big misstake. So I practise loading off the belt a while I am getting better. |

nothing like ringing steel at distance.........i would imagine tht 76 could ring it loud enough to be heard in galveston............ |

I am told that I can go as high as 13 grs, right now I am at 11 grs. Seems to be doing good now. I'll give it some time see how things work out. |

203 with open sights is amazing to me. I can hardly see out that far with a scope and a hunnert yards with iron sights is really pushing it. Good shootin' Snuffy |

Yea I hit the mark in high winds was I walkin on air let me tell ya I was sure proud. |
