But I did get them to work I had to take out the inter part of the sight and just file the sight housing down until it got to where I wanted the bullet to hit. All good now just have to dress them up a bit and blue them and we are good to go. yep it was a bit of work and I learned alot while doing it too. |

At what distance did you regulate the sights for?

Long shots haven't been very far and most times they are a bonis shot if ya miss it doesn't count against you ya just don't get the bonis is all. |

There is nothing to line up , you just look threw the hole and put ft sight on target and pull the trigger . It is so much fast then standard sight . If you look the hole are very large , most people shoot with too small of a hole .. Plus I doubled the size of the ft sight also and tang sights are great for old failing eyes . 25 yds to 100 yds NO sight adjustment needed on my 44-40 or 32-20 with SASS/CAS loads . ![]() ![]() I REMOVE APERTURE FOR SASS/CAS OR HUNTING ![]() I INSTALL APERTURE FOR LONG RANGE AND TARGET WORK ![]() I HAVE DIFFERENT SIZE HOLES IN APERTURE FOR TARGET WORK |

My eyes are just not liking iron rifle sights. I was thinking of a red dot for my 1894 Marlin but this might be a better answer.

Thank you, Snuffy. It's the rear site that tends to give me trouble. I'm far sighted and use trifocals. An aperture sight mounted close to the eye like Gunrunner uses might work well. I could look through it better than I can a normal rear peep site and then focus on the front sight and see the target. I was thinking one of the open type red dots as better than a scope but I like the tang site better if it will work for me. It's worth checking out for my lever guns. I have a Browning BL-22 in .22 LR and a Marlin in .44 Mag. I would like to get a Marlin in .357 Mag with an 18.5" barrel. I think I would prefer that to the Mini 14 Ruger or one of the other semi-autos I have for that role. I can live with a scope on the .22 but the centerfire lever gun would handle faster and better without one. The .357 Marlin is the last rifle I am looking to get and I have a number I will look to sell or trade so I should have money left over.

I had to go to trifocals as the digital readouts on machine tools were between the ranges of the bifocals. I may try to go back to bifocals as they are much easier to live with. It would make shooting easier.
