Re: i guess rossi is back

We have a few at work and they seem to be pretty well made. I had one once in .45 Colt that was a decent gun, although it needed slicking up.

Re: i guess rossi is back

I've never shot, or even handled one, but they look pretty nice. I'd take a hard look at them if I was buying right now.

Re: i guess rossi is back

I would think they'd be priced well, since their hand guns are.

sheepdog's $.02
...when you click on lifetime repair policy under that rifle...you get the above...and long guns are only for a year...the next thing you see is under the lifetime repair policy "any firearm" is covered...then at the bottom, you read that it's only revolvers with a certain stamping...what kind of "lifetime warranty" is that? I heard they were bought by Taurus....

Re: i guess rossi is back

Hmmm a short story on rossi carbines.
I bought one(44mag SS) NIB imported by LSI.I went to the range and it shot 8-10 high @ 50 meters.I called LSI and they said they would send me a new front sight that was in JUNE.well I still don't have a new front sight .last week I called brastech and asked if they had a new front sight for my rossi carbine.after much tap dancing I was told if it was imported by LSI they would not do any warranty work/repairs and or parts. even after I told them it was a brand new rifle the man said he didn't care even if it was a new rossi that I had bought.
I again called LSI still no front sights in stock,I asked to light a fire under someones a$$ and I needed one and I had been waiting since june.he then told me he had to get parts from rossi in brasil and were waiting on a import license to import parts .rossi was bought out by taurus last year and I do believe there isn't going to be any parts for along time.so if you own a rossi that isn't a brastech you are screwed.
I returned the carbine to the dealer I bought it from and recieved a refund.because of the way I was treated by brastech think long and hard about buying any rossi/taurus 92 carbine.

JUST MY .02

Re: i guess rossi is back

FT sight are cheap , If I sent every gun back for sights they didn't work , I would only have 1/2 my guns . I made the ft and rear sight on this gun to work for my needs .

I got 3 times the money in my Marlin and I got 1/2 the gun my Rossi is . Been shooting the Rossi for over 14 yrs in SASS/CAS matches and it is 100% reliable . I can't say that about the Marlin . The paste below will slick up a Rossi and they will need it or this man will slick it up for you . http://www.stevesgunz.com

Re: i guess rossi is back

hey its called principle.it was a new rifle and they should stand behind there product no matter who imported it.I think I have rebuilt more mini-gun,20mm and 30 mm cannons than you have winchesters.

Re: i guess rossi is back

I have had these 2 guns for 15 yrs and sent them back to Ruger for new barrels and cylinders , about 3 yrs ago took 4 mos to get them back from repaired , but they did a super job FREE . It's a shame they didn't build right the 1st time . That's a long way from a short ft sight .
