I bought this one about a month before winchester said they were closing down the plant.this is a "rifle" with a 24 inch barrel.I have put about a box of ammo thru it. ![]() ![]() interesting note they exported alot of these to russia because of the extreme weather.the orginal add was in russian http://magn.ru/~vlad/94blkshd.htm |

do you think the win 94 will eventually return to general market and not a commerative specialized market? That black shadow was meant to compete in the general market but it hardly saw the light of day when they pulled the plug. the everyday 94 fading from history is sad.............much like when they stopped the browning auto 5. i can see them caling the auto 5 obselete (hard to admit that).........but not the 94....its just not right. |

I really like the synthetic stocks on the lever guns. My local has a Marlin 30-30 with one and it looks sharp.

The ad says $395 for a .444 marlin. That's a really good price, wonder if it is still applicable at that level if you could find one. How rare are they? I might need one for when the Bears attack down here in the South. I don't like black synthetic, but I could live with that. Stock looks like it comes straight back, how is the felt recoil?
