I've been jonesing for a CZ 527 carbine and ran across this place while looking for reviews so I thought I'd join up.
Thought I'd better introduce myself soooo....

I'm a retired widower/const superintendent living in a shack with a couple of hunting dogs on a couple of acres overlooking the Clearwater river in North central ID.

I keep myself busy shooting colony varmints and Rock Chucks in the spring, do a little Small Mouth fishing in the summer, a little Grouse hunting in the fall with my old GSP, and some predator unting and trapping when it gets cold and the fur primes up. I even catch a cat every now and then with my little Cur dog when the snow cooperates during the season so we can find a track to run.

Here's a few pix of my prize possessions.

My hunting buddies.

Merkel 20ga my boss gave me when I retired.

M39 and K22 both manufactured in 1946

My beloved CZ 17FB Cat/Coyote/Gofer slayer.

Oh yea....I also like to set on my deck with a bowl of English and a good Porter and watch the river go by.

Anyway....thanks for having me.. I'll try to behave myself.
Charlie

You'll love the Stihl.

I have a 25+ year old Husky (36?) with a 14" bar that has never given me a lick of trouble.
Takes about ten pulls to fire but it always does.
Believe it or not, it even has the original spark plug. I'm actually afraid to change it at this point.

Welcome from Virginia! Your "retirement" sounds like a dream come true.

"Real truck"; I think of one of these; this one's a 1948 model:

RidgeRunner.....thanks for the welcome.
The Rifle's a CZ 527 originally chambered in 221FB. I bought it about ten years ago....you know....back before the secret was out and you could find em with purdy wood for around $450.
I had Pac-Nor clean up the action and screw on one of their excellent SS Super Match barrels chambered in 17FB a few years later when Remington standardized the old Mach4 and rebranded it.
I also had RBV shorten the magazine and machine the bottom metal and swapped out the bolt handle for one of Calhoons for scope clearance with lower rings.
The Scope's a plain ol 3.5-10 VX3 with Duplex mounted in Warn med's. (Working mans scope:)
I have a few other nice varmint rifles that I'll try to find pix of but I grab that little CZ 90% of the time.

Terry P......nice rig but the problem with something that big is that the places you can camp usually have another one just like it about 50' away.
Besides.....I'm only 67....far two young for that sort of comfort. :)
