Vaquero convertible

Did some tradin' awhile back....picked up a SS 5-1/2" Vaquero 45/45ACP convertible. Not sure how old it is, but it's definitely not new.

Anyhow....shot her with both cylinders...and, what was really exciting for me ( with my really lousy eyesight ) was that at about 20 yds or so impact was just about where I aimed her. I really like this "big" hogleg, and sure look forward to tryin' different loads....

Re: Vaquero convertible

Nice score! I may be wrong, but I don't remember Ruger ever offering the Vaquero as a convertible. If I am correct, I believe someone bought a Blackhawk cylinder and fitted it to the Vaquero. But, I have been wrong before, and regardless, that is a great find.

Re: Vaquero convertible

that would make a fine addition for anyone...........

ruger either still does or at least they use to fit acp cylinders to blackhawks for a fee.........i remember the stainless cylinders were quoted as actually cheaper than the blue ones........

since this is an older large frame vaquero it could had been a customer order.......then again it cold also had been an older Acusport, Lipsey, or Davidson's special run as well..............

Re: Vaquero convertible

Congrats Jody , if it is a factory job the 45ACP cylinder will have the guns serial number engraved on it.

Re: Vaquero convertible

Thanx, guys, it's a neat combo...and, it is one on the large-frame models. It's in the original Ruger plastic box, and it's marked "special Edition". Gotta check the cylinder, tho, but it'll be a coupla weeks before I can, 'cause she's in East Texas and I'm South fer a while....

And, while really not th' "place" fer it, still, Happy Turkey Day fellas!!!!

Re: Vaquero convertible

I like the Vaqueros so much better than the New Vaqueros. I had a 5.5" Colt/acp Vaquero as well. I never used the acp cylinder, but the gun was great.
